Comparison of iPad Cases

Snugg IPad cases offer protection from bumps, scratches and dirt, but they can also take the user experience to the next level with extra features. You can find cases for all versions of the iPad in different colors, materials and designs. Most come from third-party designers and can range significantly in price.

Shell cases snap on the back of iPads and sometimes hook around the edges as well. These cases do not often have front covers, although some people choose to use thin screen protectors in addition to the shell. Depending on the material used, they provide a varying degree of protection. Thin polycarbonate and soft silicone protect from dirt, but maybe not a drop. A thick, chunky rubber shell will offer more protection for the iPad's clumsier users.
Flip Cases

Flip cases protect the front, and sometimes the back, of iPads. Apple's "Smart Cover" falls into this category, attaching magnetically and flipping back into a stand for the iPad. Folio cases cover the whole iPad, flipping open when you would like to use the gadget. These are often more stylish than some of the other options, coming in leather, plastic and even suede. Some provide stability as well, so that if you are carrying the iPad in a bag with other objects it can't be crushed as easily.
Sleeves

Sleeves fit snugly over iPads to protect them from injury during travel in another bag or when it is not being used. Some have a slide-in design, but safer types close with zippers and flaps. These are most often made of softer materials like leather and cloth.
Bags

This is a broad category of iPad cases, encompassing handheld bags, purses, shoulder bags and messenger bags that are sized to fit the iPad. Some models will just hold the iPad itself, whereas others can hold chargers, cables and even a Bluetooth keyboard. They are made of a variety of materials, encompassing virtually all materials used for traditional bags and backpacks.
